Start with the user’s search

Before choosing keywords, clarify who your app helps and what they are trying to do. A relevant visit is more useful than attention from someone your app cannot serve. Write down your core use cases and the language your audience uses to describe them.

Make the next step obvious

Your listing should connect the search to a clear product benefit. Show the app’s actual experience, lead with the most important benefit, and give each screenshot a specific job. A visitor should understand what makes the app useful without reading every line.

Separate a hypothesis from a result

Record your baseline, what changed, and when. Compare like-for-like markets and traffic sources; seasonality, advertising, and product changes can also affect installs. An increase after an update does not automatically mean the update caused it.

Build a repeatable cycle

Review the evidence, keep what helps, and prioritize the next question. ASO works best alongside a useful product and a strong user experience.

  • Map relevant search intent.
  • Align metadata and creative with that intent.
  • Measure visibility and conversion separately.
  • Use findings to guide the next release.
